Introversion

When i start up the game i am forced to make a new profile, then when i exit i am unable to log back in, the message says
"unable to load profile
Save file not compatible
Save file is version [random symbol, sometimes 4]
Required version is between
----cuts off the window but i saw sav56 somewhere in there

i just downloaded the 1.54 version right off introversions site, ive tried using 1.55, this game is awesome and id really like to play it, any help/suggestions appreciated, my email is eas060709@hotmail.com

Uninstall the game completely, clean it out.

Then install the game, download the latest patch, install that, then create a new user.

Now if that doesn't work the other question is where did you get the game from? While yes we know you got the patch off the site, where's the game from? Is it from the site also, or from Strategy First/Try Games? Or somewhere else?

I am having the same problem...i bought my game from a game store (EB Games) and downloaded the patch off the site...i will try uninstall and start fresh...let you know if i fix it

Well ok, is it just Uplink, or Uplink Hacker Elite, and who is it published by, that will help us out.

Tried several times to uninstall patch and game and all file related to game and install all again and patch than create user and still will not load...any help would be appreciated...also i am using vista if that makes any difference

Do you guys run Vista?

Try installing the game elsewhere then in Programs Files, like c:\games\Uplink ?

i got it on steam, half the fuckin price and actually works, thanks a lot all you shitheads at introvision,

I am running vista and i am the admin...tried installing to C:/Games/Uplink and now it works fine...thanks for all the help
