How to get No sound?

Postby RedSatiin » Tue Mar 25, 2008 7:30 pm

i already turned off music.. but i don't want the beeps either.. I use my PC to watch shows from netflix and it's very annoying trying to watch a show while it's beeping at me every time I click a button... i've figured out how to get windowed mode to work.. Now how do I disable ALL sounds?

You can always unpack sounds.dat (it's a RAR archive, just rename it to sounds.rar and extract), create an empty .wav-file, and overwrite every single file in data/sounds.

This might not be the only way though, but I wouldn't know, as I've never wanted to do this myself :)

Yeah, because watching shows from netflix is just so much more fun with the speakers off ...

Windows Vista comes default with a "Mixer" in the volume control, allowing you to change the volume of or mute certain applications whilst letting others run with sound.

I'm sure there's a standalone application/plugin/whatever for that somewhere on the interwebs.
