LAN problem.. still?

Postby skyler » Wed Oct 24, 2007 1:40 pm

Hi.

I've used Search and found quite a lot of topics with people having this same (or somewhat alike) problem, but didn't found any working solutions for it so far.

I'm doing the ARC mission in which you have to hack into the Darwin LAN and copy some file, but whenever I try to scroll up the third time, or scroll left once, into LAN view, the game freezes. I can still hear all the button sounds in the background, menus, etc.. can also hear the music playing when the option is on, although I've been playing with music off for some time now.

Here's the report (although no error shows up in it)

In which version of Uplink your agent was created?

(Smell like you have a corrupted agent file)

I created my agent on 1.54, then applied the 1.55 patch.

I'm also using "The Mod v2", in case that may have something to do with it.

I don't know, but I just noticed it's not a problem with the mod. I uninstalled Uplink and the Mod altogether (dleeted folder after uninstall), reinstalled Uplink with the 1.55 patch and no mods, and the problem still happens. Even worse, now the game freezes as soon as I open LAN view.

Solution I found to it was to abandon the mission. :( Hope there's no more LAN missions in the storyline anymore, heh.

There's only the one LAN mission in the main storyline, but the story may not continue if you abandoned it. Not sure if it stops the progression or just puts you behind Faith in versions.

Actually a good question in itself: Does skipping a storyline misson like this end it or just put you a V# behind the other side making the last mission harder?
