Steam wont accept Mods *PATCH DIFICULTIES*

I apologize if this question has already been i asked, i cant find a thread adressing it. I have downloaded the FBI mod and extracted it to my uplink folder, but every time i start it it says it is missing the file glut32.dll, is this because i got uplink through Steam? I can use downloaded gateways just fine. If it is because of steam is there anyway to fix it so i can use the FBI mod?

Like said elsewhere old MODs don't works with Steam.

Uplink Steam 1.55 will support MOD made for 1.55, the problem is, old MOD like FBI haven't been updated to 1.55 (for reason too long to explained here).

I downloaded the 1.55 patch and ran it, but it will not allow me to install it, i have tried pretty much all my folders, is there a way to fix it.

And you cannot convert your Steam version to the _regular_ version by applying a patch over it.

Im sorry about the last posat i went back and read and realized it is too vauge. What i meant to say is that i can not install the poatch.

Steam updates automatically. You don't need the patch, so you can't install the patch.
