problem with resolution

Postby Funzi » Sun May 06, 2007 3:17 pm

Hi!
I am using the full version of Uplink at version 1.55 under Linux.
I have two monitors connected and my problem is, that Uplink now runs with resolution 2304x1024 (which is the resolution of both monitors). I am unable to set the resolution to 1024x768 windowed.
I have tried to run Uplink with

Code: Select all

uplink '!graphics_screenwidth' 1024 '!graphics_screenheight' 768 -graphics_fullscreen

but this doesn't help. What can I do?

So long,

Perhaps only try -graphics_fullscreen ?

Or try +graphics_safemode ?

Also perhaps try applying those command line options directly to uplink.bin.x86 located in the lib/ directory?

-graphics_fullscreen doensn't work either. The window has the same size as the fullscreen. +graphics_safemode doens't help, too...
But thank you anyway...

Perhaps try deleting ~/.uplink/options (or something like this).

Also, Uplink is enumerating the available resolutions and choose the closest to 1024x768.

deleting ~/.uplink/options does'nt help. I have also copied the options from my Laptop (native 1024x768) without success...
Is there maybe a SDL or X environment variable, so that I can fake a resolution of 1024x768?

I finally found a solution:
I am using Xnest to nest a X-Display with a resolution of 1024x768.

Code: Select all

Xnest :1 -geometry 1024x768 &
DISPLAY=:1 uplink +graphics_fullscreen

This should help others as well.
