Fast Forward Time Crashes Game (V1.54)

Postby dsnider » Fri Jan 05, 2007 4:01 am

Basically, every time I try to speed up time (quick or double speed) my game instantly crashes and brings up the error reporting dialog. I've submitted it each time the error occurs and my bug report number for the last one I submitted is: 263dde58

Obviously this is a big pain because I have to play the game in true real-time. So upgrading my Gateway means I have to really wait one full day before I can use it and also the time between completing the objectives for a mission and actually finishing it are in real time (granted it is kind of cool playing realistically).

I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2. I have an ATi X1600 video card with 256MB of video RAM, 512MB of system RAM, an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Barton running at 2.2Ghz, a 37" ViewSonic HD LCD monitor, and I have no additional mods installed, just the original game + v1.54 patch. My user profile was created after the 1.54 patch was installed and the copy of the game I'm using is a purchased, CD copy.

If you need any more information or have any information regarding this bug, I beg you to reply to this topic or email me directly at dsnider [at] esportsea.com. Thanks in advance.

Post your debug.log file found in the Uplink/users directory.

EDIT: Checking the crash report, it seems your agent file got corrupted. It's crashing when your Uplink fee of 300 cr gets charged at the end of month because it cannot find you bank account.

Hmm, well is there any way to "cheat" to make it not charge me the 300c so it doesn't crash? I'm not intending to be a cheater, it's just that I know one of the versions you could access a developer console and view the currently running scripts and end them. I know that the 300c membership charge is one of those, so I wonder if there's just a way I could hack the game into not charging me?

If this request is out of line, please forgive me, but I just want to avoid doing all of the work over again.

I think to get the cheat you got to have a special build made with them enabled.

Also, it seems it's not the event that is corrupted but your _person_ containning the bank accoutn informations.
