can't install patch

hi!
i have the uplink version 1.31 from cd and i have the crash problem like some others here. i downloaded allready the latest patch but i can't install it. i can' select the direction where uplink is installed and if i write it in there i can't klick on "install"

please help me

Try reinstall Uplink, after try the latest patch.

i can't deinstall it. it says installation file "uplink.msi" is not there -.-

hmmm, strange? Waht version of the game do you have?

Worse case install in another directory.

i have the version 1.31 from cd... i can't install it in another directory too. the same problem as with deinstall. i am steam user is there any possibility to play the cd version with steam?

no.

You only really need the *.dat files. Copy them from your current installation (or from the CD if available) to a new directory and install the latest patch on it.

i deleted the uplink directory with the *.dat files... but uplink is still in the system. i know that was silly^^ do i have to install uplink in the given directory: C:\Programme\Uplink ? because i changed the directory at the first installation. there's only a setup on the cd no *.dat files... should i formate my hdd? sorry for my bad english i'm german and it is a long time since i was in school^^

No you should be fine, just chose the modified Uplink folder location for the patch to install. Also on the CD there is perhaps the linux version that have perhaps the .dat files.

yes the linux version has the .dat files in it. which of the files do i need an do i have to change the file names? because they have all ./ in the front of the file names.

i just have seen a wonder^^ the deinstallation worked and the installation too. now i try the patch and write again if it has worked or not.

Try the Latest Patch currently 1.49.

Perhaps you should list the files in for Uplink installation directory.

i have the german version of the game from purple hills... maybe this is why the patch doesn't work?
