Help! Computer crashes after a 'fatal' error

Ok guys, here's the story.
I recently blew up my 'fake' computer and after going through everything else again, I'm back in. Then the problems happen. First the game crashes for no reason when I go through time, and now I can't log in without crashing.
I got this game from gametap(And if you ask me, most of the games on there are really terrible) and I have no idea where to put the uplike patch at. Any suggestions??????

GameTap doesn't have Introversion's permission to distribute Uplink, AFAIK. So you won't get help from us with that version of the game. Lucky for you, you probably didn't pay anything to specifically play Uplink, so you haven't lost any money.

You can buy it from Steam for $9.95 or direct from Introversion (you get an immediate download as well as a CD shipped to you) for $17.95
