Curious Mouse Pointer Behaviour...

Just loaded and updated my old copy of Uplink to my fancy new laptop.

From the first screen the pointer is about 2 inches off from the actual part of the screen its affecting (so to activate an OK button I have to move the arrow about two inches below the button).

Is there any ifx for this - I don't think I could play the whole game like this!

You can activate the software mouse. It's under Graphics Options.

I'm having an identical problem. Also, the game kinda droops off the bottom of the screen (at all resolutions, and I've tried adjusting my monitor). Also, the software mouse is very distracting when used with the regular mouse.

Is there some way to fix all this?

I should add that the game worked perfectly the first time I played, and I did so for an hour or two. The problem presented itself only on subsequent attempts to play... despite a few uninstalls and reinstalls.

So yeah, any ideas?

Running buggy GUI replacement (ie: windows blinds)? If, yes put Uplink in the exclusion list.
