screen refresh rate won't go higher than 60Hz...

Postby HinDu » Tue Dec 13, 2005 4:34 pm

My Windows refresh rate is set to 85Hz. But somehow Uplink doesn't adapt it and it switches to 60Hz

I tried to start it with the parameter "uplink +graphics_screenrefresh 85" but this gives me a "Fatal Error" message.

How can I start the game with higher than 60Hz?

Change the 85 to -1. This will force Uplink to use your desktop's refresh rate, assuming it is 85Hz.

Better check that to be sure your desktop's refresh is 85Hz instead of 60Hz. You know how to do that, right?

Mr.Roboto, with all due respect, but you should read my question again.
Windows IS on 85Hz! Uplink IS NOT adapting it and sets it to 60Hz.

Relax! Just wanted to be certain Windows didn't change your refresh rate while you weren't looking. Windows will do that if it detects that your hardware (especially the monitor) can't handle the refresh rate.

Anyway, just replace the 85 to -1 in the parameter to force Uplink to use you desktop's refresh of 85Hz.

I'd like to bump this thread. This bug still exists in ver 1.32 (fresh, full install)
I can send the errorlog.txt and crash.dmp on request.

My monitor can do 120Hz @ 1280x960 if needed, but set to 100Hz.
