UPLINK FATAL ERROR BUG

Dear Sir Or Madam:
There comes a point in UPLINK HACKER ELITE when you have to delete a full database. This requires you to hack into a system, go to the ADMINISTRATOR section.You must then enter the CONSOLE section, and type the command cd usr delete. Every time I do this I get a message announcing a "FATAL ERROR." The game then closes. I have treed downloading the most recent patch and starting a new game, to no avail! I HAVE A DELL COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS ME, SOUND BLASTER AUDIO, AND 2.86 GIGA BYTS OF FREE MEMORY. I turn to you for help.

Try running the game with safe mode. If it doesn't work, copy the users somewhere safe, uninstall the game and install it again. Well?
