Been playing the game for a couple of days and it was a little choppy so I decided to go online and found that there was a patch.  I D/Led the patch, installed it and startted a new User.  Now the gameplay seems to be worse then it was originally.
If anyone needs to know I have a 1 GHz AMD processor with 512MB ram and a GeForce 4 TI 64mb card.  Oh yeah and the Motherboard uses a VIA chipset for sound.  Any Idea's?

Make sure you have the latest video and sound drivers.  :)

...and in case that doesn't change anything, try renaming (or removing) the "opengl.dll" file from your Uplink program directory... That way, the game will use your graphics adaptor's OpenGL driver instead of the one that came with the game.

I think it's called "opengl32.dll"  :)

I had the same problem and deleting that DLL made the graphics much smoother.

Oh, right... opengl32.dll... (guess I should first switch on my head before switching on my computer ;) )
