You have a graphics problem. The primary surface is the way software draws onto the screen. ATI does not like OpenGL (rather silly of them) and some of their drivers will have major issues with it like you are having. I would try deleting the OpenGL32.dll form the Uplink directory and seeing what happens. Otherwise I would email ATI and yell at them. :)
