This is the OFFICIAL forum of the uplink community, moderated by the developer, who now has your ip, and you are freely admitting to having downloading the game?

And then you ask us, the loyal fans, to help you get your illegal copy to work?

Somebody pinch me. I GOTTA' be dreaming. Hey I got an idea, after you figure out uplink won't work patched without buying the game, why don't you call M$ tech support, and ask them why Windows Update won't run on the copy of XP you burned off a friend, who burned off his uncle, who burned it off his sister, who found it at work? COME ON! Or how about you take your car to Chevy/Ford/Whoever and ask why they won't honor the warranty, even though you stole it with less than 3/36? Listen to what you are saying. "Why pay for it if I can get it for free" I am a certified mechanic, and I could hotwire 90% of the cars out there in 2 mins. Why don't I steal one? I'm a pilot. I know where the airport I rent aircraft from keeps the keys, why don't I steal an aircraft? It's the EXACT same thing, only you steal software. I'll leave you with this analogy: You spend every waking minute working on a game for YEARS (note: this is working in your FREE TIME, OUTSIDE OF YOU JOB) and you finally come up with a darn good game. You sell it, to try and make a little money, and end up quitting your day job to patch it and keep the bugs out. You now have to live for over a year on the sales of this game, I dare say most of which are now long past. How would you feel if someone came to YOUR WEBSITE, using YOUR WEBSPACE AND BANDWIDTH, that YOU PAY FOR, asking how to get their copy to work which THEY DOWNLOADED FREE. I don't know about you, but I'd tear them a new one, and quite frankly, you'll be lucky if nothing comes of this.

Calm down, although i do think its really stupid how people download it off the internet and then complain when it doesn't work on an official forum.
