I have a Win 2000 system and the game start very quickly but, in the game the clock / time is all the time on stop, als i have no cpu performance in the game. Every time ZERO. if i start to hack the test gateway with the password breaker, the password breack start not yet. its not playable.
please help me immedatly

If you are running the full game make sure you have the patch installed, if not then install it and create a new user.
If it is the demo then I have no idea, I run quite happily on Win2K.

Havent really got much of a clue then.
Try running it in a windowed mode (change the shortcut to have -fullscreen_graphics rather than +fulscreen_graphics) and bring up the windows task manager (ctrl-alt-del then click on task manager).
Click on the processes tab and look for uplink.exe in the list of processes, what % cpu load does it list?
Mine tends to vary between about 3 up to 70 depending on what I am doing in uplink.
