Ok,

So I spent all kinds of time getting to be the number 1 ranked hacker, and the ARC events started to unfold.

I hacked into ARC to find the virus, and decided I'd shutdown their mainframe at the same time. I deleted all their sys files and entered the shutdown command and the game kicked me out. Now I  can't even reload that user.

There are plenty of these sorts of bugs in the game....

Sounds like the user is corrupted. If this is the case, then it is completely unusable and cannot be salvaged....

Are you running the latest version? If not patch it immediately, that should fix a fair few bugs....

Sadly,

I am running the most recent patch. I think I will hold off on playing again till a few more patches come out. The hacking is fun, but it took me 5 users just to learn what not to do, so I've done the first 50-60 missions several times.

Thanks for your help.

but it would be good to continue playing, though. as the future patches you're expecting would only probably start to come out once the DevCD and source code of Uplink is released, you'll have some more time to wait. why not take this chance to start over? ^_^
