Hey, noticed for the game, the only Mac requirement are OS X. But, when I downloaded the game, it ran kinda slowly. It's playable, but not comfortably so. In fact, the main reason I didn't take the time to finish the demo was because it ran so slowly.

Anyway, my computer is a G3 upgraded Powermac 7300 (old Mac from the late 90's) running OS X, and it has NO graphics acceleration. All it has is a 2MB video buffer. I assume the reason it runs so slowly is because it uses OpenGL for the graphics, and OpenGL is not designed to run without a graphics card. Is this the case? If so, I think you should put a note, or something, about it for the system requirements, or something.

Starcraft, which is also 2D, doesn't use OpenGL, I don't think, and it runs perfectly. Would it be possible for you to put a non-OpenGL mode for Uplink, where the drawing is done by the processor? Or would this require a rewrite?

It's still seems like a good game overall, and when I get a new computer, i'll give it another shot.

I am not sure about the Mac version but both the PC and Linux versions use OpenGL, so I assume the Mac version does too.  I am hoping when the source code is released we can do something about the graphics, maybe put in a DirectX mode for Windows, etc. but I am not sure if the Mac source is going to be released as it was not ported by Introversion, but by Contraband Entertainment for Ambrosia Software.  :)
