Bink Fine bug = disavowal

I tried to transfer money between accounts, and the transfer didn't take the first time ("please contact the bank administrator" ) .  So I transferred again, and lo and behold, overdrew the account by $50k because it really did process the transfer twice.

I transferred the money back + $500 so as to calm the system down, then paid the $500 fine.  They didn't believe me.  So I paid it again.  They still didn't believe me.  So I paid it from my other bank account.  They still didn't believe me.

So now I get disavowed because I wouldn't pay a $500 fine with $100k in the bank.

I've seen posts in reply to the same problem saying things like "back up your game file,"  "don't go into debt in the first place," and "You must not have done it right."

I don't think I should have to cheat to work around a bug, I went into debt because of what appears to be another bug, and I know I did do it right, because I succesfully paid a fine to Uplink bank earlier in the game (for being naive enough to assume that purchases would automatically be paid from accounts that could afford them).

Here's an idea - bank fines are a make-work mission that aren't any fun anyhow.  How about just having a requirment to cover your account by a certain date, with the fine automatically deducted the way your Uplink gateway rental fee is?
