Hi
I played the demo before with no problems. But now, with the full version, i can't play 10 minutes. It crashes before on random places. Sometimes in the "Options" or during the game.
The patch 1.31 is installed.
There is no debug.log because it has no time to write it. uplink stops the whole machine. I can't do anything.
Please .... Help
Random Crash in linux

Hm, maybe some problem with your video driver? Do other OpenGL applications run ok on your Linux? Try running some of the 3D-screen-savers, for example...
What distribution (e.g. RedHat 8, 9 or Mandrake, SuSE, Debian, etc.) and kernel-version (type "uname -r" in a shell if you don't know the version) are you using, and what graphics adaptor are you using in your machine?

Hm, there seem to be some drivers for the SIS 630 chipset, see the following site:
http://www.winischhofer.net/linuxsisvga.shtml#download
I can't try that, however, since I have a different graphics chip in my machine. I don't know how complicated it is to get those drivers running, but it seems there are some Debian packages there, so maybe you just need to install those (the X driver, and if that doesn't work, also the DRI driver...). You'll have to restart your X-Windows (or reboot your machine) after installing the new drivers, I think.
Maybe this can fix your problem, from what I read, many people were able to fix their problems with OpenGL applications and the SIS chipsets with those drivers...

First of all: Thanks 2 all, But .....
I already know the page from Winischhofer and I installed the packages allready. I wouldn't have a running X-Window without the packages.
I know that it should work under Linux. I had'nt any Problems with the Demo under Linux, but know, with the full version, it freezes.
Other ideas?

Since the game crashes your whole machine, I'd think that it's some driver issue... Sound is working okay in Uplink (and other programs)?
Are you using KDE as a desktop environment? I had some sound problems when running under KDE, which I could (more or less) solve by running the game with:
artsdsp ./uplink
(this makes the sound server (aRTs) run the program in compatibility mode...)
Another thing you could try is the various command line arguments which are described in the Readme.txt file... for example:
./uplink +graphics_safemode
