I get two wonderful messages when I start up the game. Message 1: A fatal error occured in Uplink.
Message 2: The instruction at "0x5ed26e14" referenced memory at "0x00000564". The memory could not be "read".

Make sure you have the latest service pack for you system.  I know this problem exists on Windows 2000 due to the OS not allocating enough memory buffer, but that the service pack fixes it.  :)
