I finally got to connect using a different server, the irc.uplinkcorp.net one, and I got all the connect messages, said I joined a channel and everything...so I try to type and Uplink freezes, my taskbar appears at the bottom of my screen, and I can't do anything in Uplink even though the music keeps playing, I have to end task it.
Running XP before anyone asks, and no other program on my system has problems. This game should not have been released with serious flaws like these in it.

UIRC isn't perfect. Just download mIRC and use it insted.

1 - That defeats the purpose of it being integrated into the game, so it looks nice and gives it a good feel.
2 - that means switching windows, which causes refresh problems, because this game is broken and has bugs up the ass.

Actually, I have determined there is a definate problem here. If the channel topic is 242 chars or above... uIRC will crash.
Anything below is fine, but this is a problem that effects everyone. I had the #uplink topic shortened in the mean time, btw

I am in awe of power and influence of The Goldfish. There is also a new patch that changes the default server avalible at Modlink. If I am on IRC (a rare occurance) you will not be able to read about half of my lines as my name obscures them, not that anyone cares, but a fun fact. :)
