Ive got the email from the deadagent but his password and username do not work, so the story line never starts.

If i remember well the username and password is for his personnal computer and not for the mainframe... (I could tell you more but if I do that I would spoil you the challenge)

jup, you have to attempt to hack into the ARC system, then, if you were fast enough, they will give you the job, and revelation...
