I have done about 4 missions all in a row. They involve hacking into mainframes and destroying them. I deleted all data inside the mainframes (Yep, wouldn't even scroll down i made sure of it.), and i did it for all four missions.

Now the news section says they had a complete failure and all data was lost. But even then when i replied to my mission they say they haven't received word -.-;;
I've waited for over a week now, and they still say they haven't received word. They owe me tons of money. Is this a bug or do i need to wait longer?

(Did i do the mission right? Deleting all the files counts as destroying the thing right? Or am i missing something?)

No you will also need to kill the OS.  So at the console something like:

cd usr
delete
cd sys
delete
shutdown

This should do it. :)

type "help" when in the console. you don't need many commands.
Information should be free - but you'll have to buy my book to find that out.

You can do that, but it's not really a safe way to cover up your tracks. The delete command on the console only works as a log deleter v1.0. That means that "deleted" log entries will remain, which might be undeleted later. I don't know if the admins of the servers you hack are actually doing that, but it might be safer to manually delete the logs with log deleter v4.0...

I loaded log deleter v4.0 onto the fileserver one time and tried to run it from the console, but it just deleted the usr files.  This would be a cool feature for the next uplink or for a possible mod.

The best way to cover your tracks is to delete your logs at your first bounce.
Due to the low security, I reccomend the Test Server or InterNIC.
When you look around, you wonder: do you play to win, or are you just a bad loser?
