Uplink from Steam

Postby FGD » Sat Aug 07, 2010 8:23 pm

Three questions:
1) Where does Steam put the save files?
2) What version is Steam's Uplink up to now?
3) Are there any mods I can download that'll get rid of the whole "make one mistake, lose your whole game" crap?

Steam always has the latest version.
Not sure exactly where the save file is, should be somewhere in its folder (Steam/steamapps/<username>/uplink if I'm not mistaken).
IIRC Steam's uplink doesn't support mods very well, and even then I don't know of any mod that would do that. Instead you have to manually back up your save every time you're about to do something risky.

By the way, not ALL mistakes will end your game. Most will, but others can simply cost you some money. :P

There's no Uplink folder in the directory you mentioned...anywhere else it might be?

"common" instead of <username>?

That's where most games go, but Darwinia still goes into the username folder because it was added a long time ago, so I wasn't sure about Uplink.
