OK I have done everything I have learned to get passed LANs, but this one eludes me. I seem to have hit a dead end. I get pass the last lock that I can find only to be connected to another standard terminal inside the system and the probe doesn't show me any new routes. I would appreciate it if someone could look at it for me. You can find the file here
The jumps to it have already been saved, so just click load. As you can see I have made very good progress, but if you can find which direction I need to go then more power to you. As for me...like I said...all I can see is a dead end.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: Having run into a dead end doing the ARC missions I decided to do the Arunmor ones by using a back up of my users folder that I created before deciding which path I should take. Again I'm at an impasse. I got to the wireless part and successfully found the frequency only ones I'm on the other side of it the connection trail refuses to move any further. Oy vae. Well, if you'd like to take a look at it and see if you can figure this one out for me too you can find it here. Again the jumps are already saved, so just load it.
Again. Thanks in advance.

Terminals sometimes contain information that will help you progress in a LAN:

See, a phone number:

Use IP_lookup:

Just enter the number:

And press "Go":

The number will be added to your contact list so you can connect to it:

Like so:

And there you go:

I just did a LAN_probe on the hub and was able to pass the terminal:
Possibly a bug of sorts caused by this lock:

Odd that you couldn't click on the terminal, but thanks. Also about the first one. I have no time to do anything before the admin catches me. I'm supposed to take delete all the files and take down the system. But he only has one jump to find me because of that telephone line I have to connect from. Even using the Revelation viruses doesn't seem to work for this mission.

As I told you before, repeatedly hack the server and manually delete as many files as possible using file_deleter until you get kicked. I did it easily within three hacks and I didn't even use the exploit of connecting to the Main Server, break voice and password, then disconnect (which leaves both open when you reconnect).

Renodil wrote:OK that will delete the files all right, but what about the part where he says to take down the entire system?
Doesn't mattter:
But you can run Revelation after you delete the files, if you prefer:

hi DinoSteve,
your description above is great, but I ran into a problem you did not cover. I suspect it is a bug, but I wanted to ask for your expertise. I entered the modem number you can see on the upper left of my screenshot into IP_lookup, just as you said one had to do: "03308-480865". Unfortunately, the result is the e-mail shown at the right:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
The result address I was given by IP_lookup is the same IP the server has that I initially connected to. You can see by the status of the server's security software that this is the very system I am connected to: all systems are bypassed by me at the time.
This means, I don't get any new address. My bookmarks are not updated, as well, so your indication "The number will be added to your contact list so you can connect to it" does not work for me.
Do you have any ideas how to connect to the modem?
Regards
Tecturon

Looks like you put it into IP_probe rather than IP_Lookup. There is a difference. Probe is going to give you the same IP as your original point of entry because presumably, with a singular connection to the internet, a LAN is only going to have one assigned IP distributed via a subnet. If you put the phone number into IP_Lookup instead, it will automatically add it to your bookmarks.
