Alternate Story Entry

OK I'm trying to do this and it's not working.

I am trying to undelete the log "Copied RevelationCore 0.7" and nothing happens when I do. The IP doesn't show up. I even verified this with the log modifier program and it isn't there,

Are you using the highest version of log_deleter on ALL of the logs?

Also, how soon after receiving the email are you attempting to do this?

I'm taking the log undeleter and using it on the "Copied RevelationCore 0.7" log only. And it's the same day the mail arrived.

Well that's where you're going wrong. Do it on all the logs, but in particular, the ones before and after that one.

Edit: Wait, you're using it on the log? As in, it's there in the listing? If so, doesn't that mean you just need to now trace the IP associated with that log as if it was a trace a hacker mission? Could you please post a picture to help clarify.

That's just the problem. I'm using it on that log, but no IP is recovered.

And did you try using it on the logs before and after that one?

Sorry for reviving a post almost a year old.

I forgot all about this until I decided to play it again and I am now up to this point once again. It is only like 10 minutes from the time the news came that he's dead when I logged in. I have used the Log Undeleter on every log file in there and no IP shows up on that file. It always says "From unknown:"

trails gone cold, after a few days people cover their tracks a lot better, so if you dont get it early, ie a day or two afterwards then you probably wont be able to get it at all

That one log will always say "From Unknown:". The trick is to figure it out from undeleting a different log with the exact same timestamp.

Well, the thing is other than that one entry every other file already HAS IP addresses on them, so using the undeleter does nothing to the,.
