Console - What else is it good for?

Postby elexis » Mon Sep 10, 2007 2:59 am

I've ran the console in the game and learned how to kill mainframes and run revelation.

The thought has occured to me that the average console should be able to do more. Well, I haven't found anything else you can do.

Does anyone else know about any other things that you can do with the console?

The only things you can do with the console are running programs such as Revelation and RevelationTracer, deleting files from the sys, usr and log directories and shutting down the system.

Ok then,

Let’s change the topic a bit; what do you think should be added to the console to make it more interesting?
When I think of a console, I think of a of a non-user-friendly, text based program that’s powerful in the correct hands (a.k.a. hacker). You should be able to search copy files, directories etc. to you’re gateway and possibly even other IP’s

To make this fair, you could make it slower than conventional copying, but not create any logs beyond the console accessed one.

But if you did it that way, wouldn't only people that know how to use the console only really be able to use it?

Speaking in the abstract, isn't that what the "help" command is for?
