Bounces - Max amount before it no longer has an effect?

Before i do a big hack, i always make sure i bounce/hop as many times as i can before i connect, to allow me more time before active tracing catches me out.
It got me thinking though; Is there a certain amount of hops you do where after, any more hops you do will no longer have an effect on time taken to actively trace you. Basicaly, is there any point in me bouncing about 60 times when there would be little or no more of an effect if i did say, just 15?

the number always affect speed another trick to increase trace time without increasing the bounces and thus the number of logs you will leave behind (even though they won't follow after initial passive i like to think clean hacking) is to get admin or a login name on a server the time taken to trace through to longest is as such

No Login on server (just a box)
Login Name on Server (Box with dashed line around it)
Admin on Server (box with solid line around)

Also with 60 hops if you had admin even on just ohh 5 you should have plenty of time to the hack but 15-20 Admin servers would last about the same time as 60 Non-Log servers
