Well gee...Lemme think.................................................First off...type help in the command console FUCKFACE! but seriously, they're really similar to dos commands in some cases; I'll define the ones you'll use, there aren't many;
dir: Lists all the files/folders in the current directory;
Directories that you will use in the game: USR, LOG, SYS
cd: change directory; When doing a "delete all files on a mainframe" or "Elite hacker needed for destruction of a computer system" you're gonna use this command to delete all the files in the usr and sys folders;
EXAMPLE:(don't type the stuff in these: () or these: [] )
cd usr [HIT ENTER]
delete [HIT ENTER]
(while deleting) cd sys [HIT ENTER]
delete [HIT ENTER]
(while deleting) shutdown [HIT ENTER]
(as soon as the console screen says "system shutdown complete", click the disconnect button)
END EXAMPLE
Anyway, more commands to define...
delete: does what it says, deletes...a warning when using it in the logs folder though, it is the equivalent to the level 1 log deleter, though it is fast, but useless when you think about it;
run: runs a program that you have uploaded to the target computer; If you are going to attack the system using Revelation, you have to first go to the file server and copy revelation in a blank spot there, then go to the console, and follow the example
EXAMPLE: Same as before...
cd usr [HIT ENTER]
run revelation [HIT ENTER]
END EXAMPLE
that's basically all you really need to know for the console; What you should have done to begin with was type help in the command console, b/c that would have given you the command list and you never would have asked that stupid question...Sorry for callin' ya fuckface btw lol, I was jk, so hopefully I didn't offend you too deeply...but if I did, too bad! :-p Anywho, hope that that info helps you...
Good luck and happy hacking!

Hello!
Im getting pretty... frustrated.
I have done, rm -rf, delete, on two systems on /urs and on /sys and shut down.
Still, they keep saying, "No, no info about any shutdown". I even stayed online and saw the goddamn mainframe to fail the boot. Why Why Why!?!
It worked before, when i just deleted /usr, but, then I only got ½ the money...
Now Im stuck with 7 active missions...
Running version 1.31 and FBI.
btw. I keep noticing versions above 1.31, tried to look for info, but massive failure... Whats is the newest version you should play?
So grateful for any advice that will help me!

Ok first off, 1.53 is the latest version. Get it here at the stickies depending on which format you need: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/uplink/viewforum.php?f=13
I haven't played the FBI mod in so long, but looks like it's running Unix commands, lol.
If the mainframe failed to boot, then you did your job. Now just fast forward until it gets mentioned on the news, then reply and tada, mission done.
Oh, and for further clarification...
HOW TO CRASH A SERVER!!!
1. GOTO CONSOLE
2. CD USR <ENTER>
3. DELETE <ENTER>
4. CD LOG <ENTER>
5. DELETE <ENTER>
6. CD SYS <ENTER>
7. DELETE <ENTER>
8. SHUTDOWN <ENTER>
WAIT TIL BOOT, THEN FAST FORWARD TIL IT GETS MENTIONED IN THE NEWS.
I don't think it can be made any clearer than that...
