Hey guys i downloaded fbi mod and extracted all files into my steam>steamapps><nottellingumyloginname>common>uplink> graphics etc.i click on fbi-mod picture in the file and its says osmething reinstall i do it same thing.so im just trying to say CAN I INSTALL MODS FOR THE FUCKING STEAM VERSION OF UPLINK thank you

Well, that's not our problem.

Mods DO work for the steam release, it's just that none have been written yet. The problem is that FBIMod was written for an earlier version. (The steam version is also slightly different from the non-steam version AFAICT, but that's less important than the version differences.)

It's unfortunate, but that's life. If still feel the need to blame somebody, then blame the maker of FBIMod for not releasing a new version of it before IV has finalized and released the sourcecode he needs to do it. Also, blame steam for doing crap like this to games in the past.
However, don't blame IV for trying to revive a dead game so they can justify taking the time away from new game devevelopment to improve an older title, as that's just damn stupid.

WTF? The DevCD owners have yet to be given any patch updates since v1.31 so how can you blame the creator (neott?), especially since it were Steam who later required things to be changed which apparently means mods don't work. It really is not the creators fault for failing to consider that Steam would later come along and screw things up for the mods.
