All hackable server...

When reading "The Ultimate Uplink Guide" it said that there where rumors that every server in the game (OCP, Protovision, Introversion, ect) is hackable. I was just wondering if that is true.

Every server can be hacked, except the Uplink bank, the government mainframe and the stock exchange. Other than that everything is hackable.

Last time I checked, Protovision wasn't hackable... did I miss something?

Protovision is the most hackable server in the game (in that hacking it requires more than just running the password breaker). If you know the password then there is definitely stuff on the protovision server you can access.

But you can't really hack it, can you? When I put my username and password into my school network, I'm not hacking into it...

You are not puting your username and password into Protovision. . . You are using a password you have to figure out, which is what you do in real hacking.

A password is a series of characters that is used to authenticate access to a file, connection or device.

Oh no, I use them all the time. They're great, you just pull them off trains in the morning and use them to wedge doors open and stuff.
