HI, Question about Sys Admins and Tracers

What are the repercussions of being caught by a LAN Sys Admin or an active trace on normal machines? I think it's happened to me before, but I've forgotten. Is it just a criminal record? De-promotion? Disavowment? I've looked around in the FAQ and some of the topics already, and I haven't been able to find the answer.

Thanks very much.
It's been a long time since I've posted here. It's so much fun to go back to Uplink after a temporary "retirement." =)[/code]

If you are caught on LAN you just get kicked from the system, there is no other consequence. Getting caught by either an active or passive trace may get you disavowed though (depending on what you hacked, you may just get fined). :)

Thanks for the timely response. That makes me feel much better when hacking LAN servers.

hey I've not been playin uplink long, but when I was still getting caught, been a few weeks knock on wood, I was always disavowed. What systems can u hack that only give u a fine/criminal record? I'm sure i been caught on an internal so that rules them out and if i remember rite, all the other systems i was passively traced on... does this effect the punishment?
anyone?
