increasing trace time

could someone please give me some tips on how to increase my trace time? I can only get 43 seconds from one place and i still need to crack the password, find the file change it and disconnect.

I think that if u get an account at the banks in the game and u bouce through them it gives u a little more time, but plz don;t quote me on it bc i might be wrong

i don't know what exactly to do to slow the trace obviously (the reason for this post) but basically, i just bounce the signal throug every company i can going to every side of the world, lol

Yes systems on which you have accounts give you signifigantly more time. Also not the distance between servers does not matter. :)

yes corey the more hops the better usually before i hack something serious I have about 50 hops

I generally only use every bank the stock market and all the Uplink machines and have plenty of time. :)

is there anyway to just add more servers even though i don't ave them through missions?

Just go to InterNIC, they have most servers listed, just click on the button next to them to add them to the map. :)

ok, maybe i can get over minute. it did it once and i couldve completed the mission... hhehehehe, except the game crashed

i only bounce through all uplink servers, test server, internic, stock, and all banks. i end with stock and start with internic, i save all my bounces then when i do a job i jsut load and click the server i need to hack

OOOOH thats what InterNIC is for! I was wondering that, and I was about to ask a question about how to get IP adresses for servers I need (Some servers require a bounce off of another server in the network, on the harder missions you get)

Yeah basically, You just get as many servers as possible. What I like to do is bounce them off the world in patterns, like a circle, so when Im using the TraceTracker Hud upgrade, its easy to see. Also, after every server you hack, its always a good idea to go to the links section and bookmark every server there.

hehe the most time I have ever had was when I had to hack the criminal DB, I had 500 seconds

8 banks with accouns
12 internal servers with admin access
50 public access or misc servers

500 seconds? thats alot but my high score is 1156 seconds hacking one of te first missions and/or the academic database
