Tracing Hacker with LVL 3 Security?

Ok, got my first trace a hacker mission. They gave me level 3 security on their server, which means I can look at account names and passwords, but NOT logs.

What good is this? Do I just ignore this nifty little gift they've given me and hack into the admin account?

yes.  you're gonna have to hack your way into their comp, find the right log, then hack into the next comp.  you have to keep repeating this process until you find a personal computer.  you will need a log undeleter, so if you find a log for the right time, but it is not a bounce log or whatever, just undelete it.

Do they ever put a bounce log that is edited, leading you the wrong way?

 No, they won't change their log to trick you (besides modifying in once...Undelete it) into looking elsewhere, or framing someone.  The target hacker only changes the log once. "connection from x routed to x"  But be careful; if too much time has passed since the hacker attacked the system, he'll have already deleted his modified logs.  Don't do any of these missions later than a certain amount of time since the attack, say no later than a half/whole day.  If the hacker has already deleted his logs permanently, there's no way to accomplish the mission...you must abandon it.
