Uplink 32bit .rpm on Fedora 15 --> libmikmod.so.2 require

Postby BobsATragicLinuxUser » Wed Nov 23, 2011 2:51 pm

Humble Indie bundle, 32 bit .rpm won't install because of libmikmod.so.2 is a requirement. Which isn't available on Fedora 15. (Version 2 of libmikmod is so old, it ain't even on the internet and symbolic linking ...so.2 to ...so.3 doesn't seem to werk)

OTOH the .tar.gz works just fine and includes the needed library, so you know, just use that!

Symlinking so.2 to so.3 worked for me, but it does not satisfy the dependency requirement for the rpm as obviously the rpmdb does not know that you made the symlink. do "rpm -i --nodeps" on the package and it should run fine.

You may also need to install SDL_mixer manually as the result of not doing dependency resolution on the rpm...
