3 Signed Defcon Units to be Won!

Postby JamesL » Sat Aug 05, 2006 7:54 pm

We have 3 signed Defcon units to award, drawn randomly from all players who successfully complete Uplink 1.34 (beta) before the end of August.

The patch can be found here.
The list of changes can be found here.

For the full announcement and to see how to enter the Defcon draw, see the news post.

I don't really wanna say it for fear of warez but is there any particular reason it didn't ask me for the code when I set up a new user?

Also I've been playin for a little bit, and i don't know if it's just me or what but the responses when I clicl a button seems to be delayed. It takes about 2-3 seconds to process then it finally complies...
I wasn't here.

The processor load was reduced in this patch, I believe. This has caused a minor slowdown on my Turion 64 and not really affected processor load too much (the fan still kicks in).

But then again, it's a beta patch so what do you expect? :D

The cardcode feature was removed in version 1.31b. JamesL mentioned it in his other post.

That's a change from version 1.31c:

Change Log wrote:- Changed : Should no longer hog the CPU, as requested by some users. If this causes jerkiness for testers then it will be removed or made optional.
Uplink help: Check out the Guide or FAQ.
Latest Uplink patch is v1.55.

If you're running Windows, have you tried increasing Uplink.exe's priority using TaskManager?
