Which trick? Was it something to do with payphones?

The answer - it's possible that it did work, but if it did, it almost certainly won't anymore. Most phreaking techniques have been patched by the telcos, they're a lot more security minded when implementing systems now aswell

Also it was never called "Hackers 2: Takedown". It was just Takedown. Hackers 2 Takedown is what it is called on P2P sharing.

Antitrust is usual "ZOMG HACKING AND SPYING MOVIE", it's not great, or realistic.

None of them ever are, except the Matrix, obviously.

I'd say you guys don't appreciate Sneakers as much as I did. I thought the entire orchestration was magnificent, especially the social engineering scene. Classic.

Sneakers is pretty good, the only half decent hacking film (Matrix not included because it's not really a hacking film).

Although watching Hackers again, I found out you do infact see Angelina Jolie's tits, for all of about half a second.

Did anyone else think that Angelina Jolie looked like a Romulan or Vulcan in Hackers?

Its a damn sight more realisitic than most though. At least the systems he's using are linux machines and the source code shown on the screens at points through the movie are bits from real compression scheme (The intro one is bzip2) and even a few from Jigsaw (the web server)

The IP addresses for the satalites correlates to the fact that they can only be controlled from an internal network (10.n.n.n).

When you go back and look at, say, hackers. You see it did a better job than most :P
