I didn't find it in the thread, but it's on the New Releases list of www.direct2drive.com but it's the Strategy First version I guess.

Direct2Drive appears still to be selling a "Hacker Elite" version of the game. It seems highly likely this is unauthorised, considering both IV and Steam offer a digital download of it.

i went to star dock and just for a goof, i downloaded Uplink hacker elite, i went to the multi monitor options and started a server, my norton immediately stopped an intrusion attempt trying to be make by
Back Orifice 2000 Trojan horse, so not only does star dock have an illegit version, its virused to boot. i hope somebody can do something about this.

Nah, even versions of Uplink from Introversion will flag a false positive from norton (and some other software), since the Multimonitor uses the same port (31337) as Back Orifice. Do yourself a favour, uninstall the horrid bloatware that is Norton and get something decent.

everyone tells me that Norton Sucks, and McAfee sucks, and all these virus scanners suck. Tell me about one thats good.
