But isn't the answer "no"?

Since Vax VMS is like 15 years old?

Converted to US currency, it's about 5/19 of a cent per kg! Everyone knows that!

Sorry 'bout this, no one has told me how to do blue highlight (without BBCode).

This actually reminds me a lot of a subgame in an old game called Mission Critical.
Bamelin:
Have you guys considered using Xbox Live Arcade as a potential platform for Defcon?
Stewsburntmonkey:
Xbox Live Arcade might be cool, but I think IV would have to totally redo the graphics engine to make it use DirectX instead of OpenGL...
prophile:
DirectX sucks.
Stewsburntmonkey:
The only real problem is that it is not portable
prophile:
Speaking as a Mac and Linux user,
DirectX sucks, use OpenGL.
Happy?

Just because you can't use it doesn't mean it sucks. I can't legally fly an SR-71 Blackbird, but is still one hell of a fine aircraft.
Deepsmeg:
beno can...

When i was younger i had "shuttle" for the Atari-st. .....
Dont release a faulty game on a format which cannot be patched
Ozymandias IV:
Are there plans for a Mac version of Defcon?

Steeds is right on.
Aren't some of Uplink's program bugs as old as MS Macro Assembler v.6?
It was a GREEN onion.

Yah, TOTALLY irrelevent. I agree.
You know, there's only three kinds of people in this world.
Those who know how to count, and those who don't.

Maybe a little Darwin? :o

No, that would be darwinling. This seems more like a progressive verb form of Darwin.

"darwining" v. the progressive act of making something evolve Ex: "Billy, stop darwining the dog to make it grow another tail."

"Hello Dr Falken.....Would you like to play a game?"
That still sends shivers down my spine :)

Now I think of it, this was a really obvious thing for Introversion to make a game out of :)
*waits eagerly for a demo*

Darwinia and Defcon would be great on Xbox Live. They would also look awsome on HD.
Time to petition MS. They could buy the rights to engineer a 360 compatable version of the games so IV don't have to do all the coding.

Looks awesome and sexy. I'm definately buying this when it comes out. Now to find a job! :D

As regards the XBOX thing, if I remember correctly the console pretty much has DirectX hardwired into it, so everything has to use it. It would be interesting to see what the PS3 has to offer before anything is done. If the PS3 has native OpenGL support, then it'd be perfect.
