One of the few times when a bump is appropriate. Did he leave any contact info such as e-mail?

Lol, I'm still here, just lost some topic reply notifications, I think...
Anyways, There's been some personal trouble in my life, and next to that also some personal trouble with my PC (this time, it's not the same problem and they're not related :))
I'm currently working on this Interline project, anyone who wants the source code for the Uplink2 server, just ask me.
I'll probably restart working on the server soon. We'll just see.

Indeed. We've been there before, it simply isn't possible to juggle a life and coding a game of this magnitude. Unless, of course, you are Chris... (but then, maybe Chris doesn't have a life :P)

It is working until now. People can do stuff like registering. All functions that require the reading of files are in one module, they can be made at any time.
As for the logging in and playing the game...
Logging in can be made using functions in the same module. I can make people start programs etcetera, their status can be held in modules. It's all possible, but not easy with Visual Basic.
Anyone who can donate some help, coding or ideas, it's appreciated. Please mail me at my gmail address.
If there's any code you need to help me, just ask me, i'll send it right away.

At the start I said this wouldn't pan out. I did say I hoped I would be proven wrong, as it would be nice to see one work.

I was proven right. Vapourware version 23523 and counting.

I have an idea. Why don't you stop yapping and just finish the damn thing, if you're really on to something. If you even have the slightest resemblance of a working module then post a link and we'll see if viewing this thread was even worth the effort. How's that? =)

The funniest thing about the whole Uplink 2 holy grail is that it actually isn't that hard. The reason it always fails is because pretty much everybody who attempts it is a kid! And nobody who has ever attempted it has had any degree of commitment!

I really have no interest in an online version of Uplink, but if someone really wanted to do it I think it could be done. It'll never happen, but theres no reason it's any less possible than the huge number of large scale mods or expansions of various games or homebrew projects that already exist on the internet.

Nobody who has ever attempted it has the conviction or the knowhow to actually achieve it.

I knew it! At exactly the time I said that I didnt work on it anymore, everyone started talking like this!
Dudes, I'm gonna work on it when I'm home right away.
Thanks for your motivation.
