Think my ABB offer will accept me? >_<
Edit: Well, Southampton have rejected me (*cough*wankers*cough*), but my insurance Lancaster accepted me, so yay, and stuff.
When I was living in England, I got accepted by Southampton...
But then, I did make AAAB...
Anyway, good luck to you all back there, and I hope you get what you need to get your places.
And believe me, it only gets harder when you get to uni...

Has anyone else seen the exams on the news? I don't know if it is just Scotland, I haven't been paying attention that much, but it seems that pass rates are superb, or are as predicted or higher.
This raised a few questions in the Babylon5 household.
1. Are exams getting easier?
2. If so, I'll be taking them next year, and if they are being changed, this could mean overly hardened questions/pieces of music in my case.
3. Or are teachers suddenly becoming efficient, and have spent more time developing teaching skills rather than complaining about lack of holidays. Sorry if that offends anyone, or upsets them in any way

look.
If the pass rate was going down, the critics would say teachers aren't working hard enough, pupils are lazy.
If the pass rate stays level, teachers aren't working hard enough, pupils are lazy, and aren't pushing for better grades.
As pass rates are going up, teachers aren't working hard enough, pupils are lazy and so the exams must be getting easier.
There's no way to win.

When I was at college back in England, I looked through past papers that were 5+ years old, and they were no harder than the latest ones.
I think that the improving pass rate is due to the fact that less people are taking A-Levels for the sake of it, now that people are being encouraged to take vocational courses or apprenticeships to continue there education, so there are less people taking A-Levels that really couldn't give a toss if they pass or not.

Congratulations to those who got what they wanted. Condolences to those who did not.
Also results are generally up a little in England and Wales, and up a lot in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
