Whys Every1 Like The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Books?
i've been on here awhile (not registered) and im just interested to y you are all obsessed with them, ive never read them so would like to know why there so good. thank you.
Because it is better than the encycolpedia Galactica in two important respects:
1) It it slightly cheaper.
2) It has the words "Don't Panic" writen on the front. (Which is always good advice.)
It may be the best book in the universe.
Therefore, there cannot be any-one who likes The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, since there cannot be any-one.
So don't ask stupid questions.

On the subject of the universe, the guide wrote:THE UNIVERSE:
4. Population
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.
Therefore, there cannot be any-one who likes The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, since there cannot be any-one.
So don't ask stupid questions.
If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

Urrgh. Noooo. Am I the only person on the planet who thinks the movie looks set to deface a beautiful, beautiful memory?
God: "I refuse to prove that I exist, because proof denies faith and without faith I am nothing."
Man: "Ah, but nothing as incredibly useful as the Babel Fish could ever have evolved by chance, so you must exist. Therefore, by your own arguments, you don't."
God: "Damn. I hadn't thought of that." [promtly vanishes in a puff of logic]
Man: [For an encore, goes on to prove that black is white and then gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.]

I have never heard mention of that series on this forum until now.Uplinkfanatic07 wrote:im just interested to y you are all obsessed with them,
Some people talk because they have something to say. Others talk because they have to say something.
They are a great series of books.
The movie looks shite.
Read the books, avoid the movie.

Make sure you've read the books first though.
How come nobody else has mentioned the radio series? That's how it began, and it's without a doubt at least as good in that format as in the books, if not better.

man i LOVE this book and the rest of the trilogy (which is actually 5 books) and reckon all books should be read. in the book "Life, The Universe And Everything" it goes to tell us that the answer is 42, but they don't quite know wat da answer is, ford tries to figure it out with some telepathy and a bag of letters but all he gets is: six times seven.
Definately recommend the 5 part trilogy to everyone!!
