At least Dark Signs looked like it was going to be a decent uplink ripoff.

I'm credited in the music section (I'm DJ Velocity www.dj-velocity.com). Weird, I don't remember giving my music to them :P

I got banned from their forums. I replied that the game was an uplink ripoff in every single topic.

And they banned you for that?

No wait, that's no surprise.

Believe it or don't:

I actually found an even bigger Uplink rip-off called Galactic Hacker.

I'm not going into details about it because it's so lame. Worst of all, it contains spyware...

I thought there was a good Hacking game being made at about the same time as Uplink came out. It was called HackR or something like that, and had some promise (unlike digital-mind overlay-the-universe or whatever they're making now came out). Anyone know what happened to them?

It was fake. That was a huge controversey back in the day. There was also a hacker game project I helped work on and bring to attention to the bored, Street Hacker (www.streethacker.com)

8) I have a copy of Street Hacker! Yes, it's legal, I paid for it!

I like the idea of using viruses and worms like real hackers. I just wish I was able to get deeper into it. But this conflict I have between my WiFi card and Microsoft's .NET framework under 98SE has really fubared my system, forcing me to upgrade to XP.
