"Mindlink 2005" - Possible Rip?

Postby Cyberwarrior » Sun Mar 20, 2005 1:28 pm

Is it me, or does this;

http://www.mindlink2005.com/

Look significantly like an Uplink ripoff?

Not only in name, but in concept. Oh noes, you work for Mindlink, not Uplink.

The password cracker and trace tracker here are near identical to their Uplink counterparts, non?

exoSyphen Studios and Terminal Zero Media, tend to rip uplink like games a lot, diference is they are not to the high standard that uplink is, personally i think Chris and IV should go and set a nice little law suit on the fuckersm as Modlink is actually an uplink mod.

Well anywho if this company want to rip IV off then i am in full support of IV going and owning their asses in a court room

Go for it IV... sue there asses

Perhaps they'll learn from their mistake after having their asses sued, and maybe attempt to make something original.

heh, exosyphen keep pumping out crap, suprised anyone actually plays.

(note, I've not played this one, it might be good, but based on all the other exosyphen games I've played it probably isn't)

Well, the demo, like all the other games like that, suck, they will never do well, but i still think that IV should do something about it.

I doubt it.

Mindlink 2005 is the same game as Digital Overlay, as Mindlink, as Hack the Universe..., only the graphics get slightly "tweaked" each time.

These games are just "crack and loot," crack the password and steal the money, nothing more nothing less. No storylines, no criminal databases, no viruses...

In early 2002, about the same time I purchased Uplink, I got Digital Overlay/Mindlink for about $10US and got "lifetime upgrades" for it. I stopped last year with Hack The Universe seeing that there's no real development with the series.

Hack the Universe and Digital Overlay, yeah, they suck. But Mindlink? That's not even making an effort.

Hack the Universe?
What sort of lame name is that?
If you can't call it Hack The Planet, why bother trying to imitate it?

But, Darksigns from the looks of it has gone under. Not really as active as it used to be.
I should put a signature here soon....

exoSyphen have made about 6000 hacking games, and every single one has been shit. They are all blatant ripoffs of Uplink and exoSyphen aren't creative enough to make them any good and not intelligent enough to try something different.
