No, seem like you need to have a more inquisitive spirit when you play Uplink.

rome2ng wrote:well, you got no money how to get good stuffs

Uhh... get money?

rome2ng wrote:this is so irritating.

can't we even use a good modded gateway ?

in that case if we can't use it, we can't cheat

What? No! The horror!!

It's the best and only active mod from Uplink... If you read the first post by Miah Helpmann you'll know exactly what he wanted to get in, and you can also go to http://www.onlink-mod.net... But I believe it doesn't work at the moment, so you'll have to try again later...

Well, as a matter of fact, the website does work. Its being continually updated, even as we speak (Im trying to code in a better news system, with comments). The forums are open and ready to be posted on, the FAQ is semi-done, its also under-construction, but most everything else works. So go check it out.

Grasi and, please, if you have any things you specifically want added to the WEBSITe (not the actual Onlink Mod) please drop me a line on the Onlink-Mod Forums, or contact me.

why the biggest bandwidth of the gateways is only 8 when there is a modem of 40 15 10 and so on
and it wont hurt if we could buy more ram and memory as 128 for the ram and memory isnt enouth for buying all the software

The biggest bandwidth isn't eight, the Trinity File Server thing (I think that's the one, something like that anyway) can take a 10 Gq modem. And... uhh... where exactly are you finding your 40 Gq one? :?

Trinity Gateway take 8 Gq/s
The file server takes 10 Gq/s

There is no "Trinity File Server"

There is a 40 Gq/s modem. no gateway yet supports it.

Hey guys, been a while since an update, so I shall...

I've been working feverishly on the OSs, and have finally made them so you can FULLY mod them. I need to reconstruct all the the buttons before it all works, bu let's take a look at how this maps out, shall we?

Code: Select all

NAME:       UplinkCorp
AUTHOR:     Chris Delay (written by Joshua Clayton)
COMMENT:    The standard Uplink theme

; BUTTONNAME                XPOS    YPOS    HEIGHT  WIDTH
; =======================================================

Speed0                      263     3       15      15        ;Start of the HUD interface
Speed1                      280     3       15      15
Speed2                      297     3       15      15
Speed3                      314     3       15      15
Speed4                      331     3       15      15
Quit                        3       4       13      13
Date                        20      3       147     15
Location                    170     3       90      15
HUDsoftware                 3       -70     53      53
HUDpc                       60      -70     24      24
HUDhardware                 60      -42     24      24
HUDmemory                   87      -70     24      24
HUDstatus                   87      -42     24      24
HUDfinance                  114     -70     24      24
HUDsendmail                 114     -42     24      24

If the number is positive for x, it places as distance from the left. If negitive, the right.

If the number is positive for y, it places as distance from the top. If negitive, the bottom.

Also, I really need your help guys. I'm completely out of money for this project, so I may need to postpone it for a while, lest someone starts donating.

Please? :(

Sounds like a good idea.

/me donates $15

This is looking less like a mod, and more like a "sequel" which uses the same engine.

Okay chaps, Beta 4 is in Internal Beta, and providing there aren't *too many* bugs that my internal testers have, I'll have Beta4 in a week or two.

On an aside note, I added an update notifier to Onlink. Here's what it looks like.

Image

And with that image, I wish to say: it's not ready just yet.

Also, yes, I will be fixing those fonts.

And as an after-note, I'm still kinda hurting for money. We got a good start, but we're likely going to need some more.

I'm going to work on getting a nice something to play with for all of you soon, like a Beta 4.1, where you won't have to wait another month for it ;)

Also, what you you guys think about having an auto-downloader? Should it download in the background? Should you be able to download it from the options menu? Any other ideas? Let me know :)
