Mr. Random is confused...

Postby random @$$ » Sun May 23, 2004 4:40 am

Mr. Random is having trouble with the fact that a game produced well over 2 years ago still costs $30.... I mean this game has nothing fancy to it... besides the fact that its ridiculously fun i see no point in spending so much on this game...

Mr. Random goes back to playing Battlefield Vietnam......

The price is largely due to it being only recently picked-up by publishers. It was actually cheaper when it originally came out. The price is imposed by the publishers and it not really Introversions choice. :)

Now why would you want to play a shitty EA game when you can play something just as good from another company?
Ah well, Battlefield Vietnam is pretty fun, tank shell and rocket physics are rather shitty. The shell/rocket travels about 50 metres, then drops straight into the ground.

There's your answer matey.

They'll charge as much as they can for it. If they were charging $30 and not making enough out of it, they'd lower the price... they haven't, so evidently there are people who are prepared to spend that much on a game. :)

I realise that, but having to elevate the barrel of the gun as far as it will go just so the shell can go ~200metres is rediculous.

That's not as bad as halo rocket physics...
It will go on forever but it travels at the speed of a wounded sloth after being shot with a tranquiliser gun.
The shot will get to where you aim it.. but by the time it gets there, the thing you were aiming at is shooting at you while you frantically try to reload.

I dunno what your complaining about anyway. I dunno if you've looked at the market recently, but $30 (£20) is CHEAP for a game.

Are you guys making fun of Halo now? The only reason that the guys move is they saw you, either you have to be closer to them, or you need to be smarter than them. Not trying to be mean or anything. But I prefer the gas powered sniper rifle over any weapon in the game. Still can't wait for Halo 2. :D
