The Joy of Max

Postby Darkshine » Fri May 21, 2004 3:11 am

So I bought and finished Max Payne 2 today, and found the game utterly silly, so I just made this little comic to put to rest my irritance at it. It's pretty pants, but wasted some time :)

Okkkkk.
Perhaps you don't know it, but I'm a big fan of Max Payne.
I finished the first, and of course the second.
In my opinion, it's a very beautiful, touching, and special game. It's a creative game, and very easy and nice to play.

Darkshine, I would like to know what are your claims against that game. Perhaps we have a different taste when it comes to an excellent game like Max Payne.

I pray to the third, although I doubt if it will ever exist.. :D

P.s: to emphasize how great this game is: play Enter the Matrix.

By the way, I like the comic, I really do.

I can't help but laugh at how lame that sounds.

It's a comic, BCE style, but with a bit more effort, taking the piss.

If he doesn't like it, it doesn't make it any worse for anyone else..
Can't you see how it can be seen as silly?

It may be a great series, but it's still lame that you really care what he has against it..

I think my comic says it all really.. that's why I made it!

The game was ok, but it was really just Max Payne 1.5, with a sloppier story, and more caked on terrible script. That's all. I don't really mind it, I just found it a bit silly. It's only a light hearted dig! :)

Yeh, the comic says it all from your point of view, that's why I liked it... :)

But my point of view about the game is different: The story gives answers to the first Max Payne, and in fact- it's the direct continue for those who liked it, with better graphics and options.
I accept your opinion and i'm sure you have good enough reasons to think what you're thinking... :)
I think the script is serious, special, and the comic represents the deep thoughts of Max Payne and his suffer.

We can like it or not, but there's no doubt that it is one of the most special and invested games that we;ve seen last years.

Perhaps it's a little silly, I don't know...But a little humor is sometimes necessary. :)

Max Payne and Sam Fisher rule the universe... :!:

But that's just it, it doesn't give any answers that weren't in the first game, and I'd hardy call the script Dickens - you keep saying it's serious and special, but for the exact reasons i find it stupid.

The actual gameplay is the only thing I find beautiful about it, if repetitive to the point of boredom - the way in slow motion, the flying corpses arcing throught the air, gracefully sending chairs and boxes flying away from them, the slow numbing sound of bullets searing past your earholes - that's almost balletic.

But the graphic novel is hackneyed and terrible. If it was a film, it'd bomb.

It's technically not a cat, but cats are a sorta anime related running BCE joke. Kinda.

I find it as unique.

*Thinking and reconstructing these magical moments........*
Oh,yeah! :D

you keep saying it's serious and special, but for the exact reasons i find it stupid.

For the exact reasons I find it special and perhaps even thrilling.

it doesn't give any answers that weren't in the first game

Yeh, you're right, but it's widening the story and the events which is good and helpful if you want to create a new game which based on the old one and sell it all over the world.
The comptrollers liked it, so why souldn't you?

However, have it your way...
