The Browser Battlegrounds

Postby Starfyre » Mon May 03, 2004 3:05 pm

Heed the flames, for now we go into old battlegrounds of flames, hate posts and corporate bashing, the

BROWSER BATTLEGROUNDS!

An attempt to give a little overview about the recent trends in Internet Browsing.

Vote for your most commonly used browser; if you have more than one, vote for the one you use most.

Why?

Because!

And off you go.

EDIT: Sorry, I confused Firefox / Firebird and the Mozilla section. They belong together. Vote for the last one only if you use Konqueror. Thanks :)

@menacer:

So it doesn't start when you need it the least.

Safari? Never heard of that. Sounds like a softdrink... *runs*

I use IE when in windows, Firefox in Linux, and occasionally use Lynx for gopher and stuff. So what do I vote for, my favourite?

It's Apple's default browser. No one on a modern Mac should use anything but.

Because his general posting is idiotic, he never researches anything before he posts, if he did he would know that no one has Darwinia as it isn't even finished yet. If he used the search button he could find plenty of answers that he requires.

That answer your question?

I want to know, what you all find in Firefox?
But don't start flaming me, I want a simple review.
And please, without any "It has this-and-that, not as this IE, that can only that-and-this".
Don't compare, I just want to know the main features.
And I don't consider "not developed by Gates" a feature.
My name: Hexadecimal 22.
My format: Virus.
My destination: Mainframe. ReBoot! Vote please!!

LIES!

I use IE on a mac, particularry because I feel Safari is more of a public beta. That, and I like to control security settings on specific sites.

Tabbed browsing, doesn't use many resources, works on a variety of platforms, is open source and has some cool plugins like mouse gestures. It is also harder to get infected by spyware/adware that with other clients I'm not supposed to compare with. Whoops.
