That's ~$15.00. The price increase is largely due to the additional costs of the publishers. In order to get publishers to sign on for the US and Mac versions they had to raise the price. :)

Well, if you hit back after posting, if you do it too slowly, it resends the post it seems. To be fair to him...

This game is more than worth the 40 bucks. So it's more or less a text-based game. So what? How many games come out every year with beautiful graphics that are terrible-to-play, short, pointless, uninvolving, unoriginal concepts that you will play through once and never touch again?

Then there is this game. Look at the number of people in this forum? This isn't even a major developer. This isn't a license like Lord of the Rings or The Matrix. So why did the last Matrix game suck, but this one is still being played?

Because it is worth that forty bucks. Think about it.

*This is my first post. :D *

And that was damn good and true for a first post, congrats :)
Yes. What the game market needs is no endless stream of generic clones.

What it needs is things like Uplink and Tron 2.0. The truly creative, new-style, not yet drained to death stuff.

That would be a possibility if the post weren't different. The sentence is basically the same, but the original post has another sentence in it. :)

are you complaining about the price of uplink in a games shop or from the website?
Introversion have little influence over the shop's price as this would be handled by the publishers who would (in the US) would see this as a new game, as the official store release was only recently, and they would have a say as to how much the online version is sold for
(the publishers will see less of the money from the online shop version than the real world store) and as large corporations don't like to lose money, they will excert as much influence over the price as long as possible
