How realistic is Uplink?

i go with BlueScreen. imho, successful hacks made at really big companies wouldn't have been made without inside help. there will always be a mole that would leak out some sort of info that could help compromise their systems. would you also believe that, after rounds of seminars and product offers about how regular employees should setup their passwords, majority still go for the age-old method of using birthdays, wedding dates, first letters of names, or 'sex, god and anonymous'? =)

i wish there was a password cracker in real life like the one in uplinks that works for anything that takes a pw and u just have to click on it and it goes that fast. ya gotta admit that would be sweet. and i could get my yahoo pw back .\/.

there is one, it's not hard to find, and it's illegal to use.

On a busy isp, searching the logs for a small, single log is like looking for a needle in a heystack. Plus the fact that it would take up sooooooooo much space, our network computer logs at school take up about 1 GB a week, that's just people on the school network. In the short time I ran a server on my PC, you don't want to know about log file sizes, and that was just from a few days, they do delete them after a while

The posting about inside moles is correct. A friend of mine works at school. I can get just about any info except pwords. My password, it's something which isn't very commonly used(I don't think.) but easy to remember. (except the female of the species who cannot remember after hours of drilling it in)

The thing that interests me the most is the Voice Analyzer.
Do you think there ARE things like that, maybe at the NSA HQ or somewhere?
